ACA Award Winner Chloe Do-Beattie
Smart City Vocational College is pleased to announce that student Chloe Do-Beattie received the Outstanding Student Award for 2016 by the Australian Counselling Association at their national conference, held in Adelaide on 23rd -25th September, 2016.
Chloe won the award in the vocational category and was selected by a panel consisting of Australian Counselling Association employees and voting members. The Australian Counselling Association is Australia’s largest peak body in counselling.
Chloe is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling with SmartCity at the Elizabeth, SA campus and was nominated for the award by her trainer Emily Pennell.
Emily say’s, “I have observed Chloe become friends with students and support them during their studies. She hands in work on time and in the past 9 completed units she has not been required to resubmit any of her completed work. Academically Chloe excels but I believe that it is what she does outside of her own work to help others that deserves recognition. Chloe assists students after class hours, she often arranges study groups at the local library for other students to attend as well as assisting others over the phone.”
Chloe was extremely pleased to win the award. Saying, “I’m shocked to win but also really proud. All of the hard work I have put into the course has been worth it. I’m really enjoying the course and it is very eye opening. I’m learning so much about myself as well as other people’s behaviour. It’s great to know that I am gaining the skills to help people and make a difference as I get qualified. My goal is to become a trained and qualified counsellor.”
Chloe received a free 12-month registration to the Australian Counselling Association for winning the award.
Congratulations on your achievements so far Chloe. You are an inspiration to us all.
